Who is Dr. Hamza Almustapha?
Dr. Hamza Almustapha is no stranger to Nigeria’s challenges. He has lived through them, fought against them, and paid the price for his convictions. Born in Nguru, Yobe State, in Northeast Nigeria, and proudly of the Kanuri ethnic group, Dr. Almustapha grew up with a strong foundation of patriotism, discipline, and Islamic moral values. These principles shaped his career and his lifelong commitment to the Nigerian nation.
A graduate of the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), he quickly distinguished himself within military intelligence through his brilliance, loyalty, and strategic thinking. His courage and dedication propelled him to the national stage where he became Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha. In that role, Dr. Almustapha oversaw presidential security, coordinated national intelligence, and played a pivotal part in managing the country’s most critical state security operations during one of Nigeria’s most turbulent eras.
